MIT PORTRAIT SESSIONS

Below is information regarding studio portrait sessions for MIT’s staff and faculty, conducted by Caitlin Cunningham Photography LLC, a registered preferred vendor of MIT. Included in the session are the principal photographer, Caitlin Cunningham, and an assistant, who will conduct a tethered photo studio onsite against a neutral paper backdrop and with studio lighting, in a reserved space organized by the MIT contact person. A tethered shoot involves a camera physically connected (“tethered”) by a cable to a computer; files are imported directly onsite so that the photographed individual can review the images and select his/her/their portrait, assisted by the photography assistant. The selected images will be retouched and submitted to MIT as high-resolution and square-cropped web-resolution files, as per the provided samples below.

Process:

  • Individual signs in on studio-provided Excel spreadsheet with his/her/their full name

  • Photographer takes 10-12 frames per person

  • Assistant reviews selections on laptop with individual

  • Each individual is allocated (1) retouched file, unless otherwise stipulated by MIT contact person

  • Photography and image-selection process should take no more than 5 minutes per person

  • Retouched selections are provided as both high-resolution and square-cropped web-resolution files

  • Delivery of retouched files is within five business days via a password-protected gallery unless otherwise agreed upon, and available for three months prior to gallery expiration

  • Studio guarantees digital archiving for one year from shoot date

Photo Details:

  • High-resolution file (8x12” 300dpi)

  • Web-resolution file (480 x 480 pixels)

  • File naming convention is: Last_First_yymmdd

Booking Details Required:

  • Site contact’s name, cell phone number, and email address

  • Shoot location (building and room number)

  • Building access information

  • Shoot duration, inclusive of setup (1 hour) and photography (minimum of 2 hours)

  • Desired start time for setup (one hour prior to start of portrait session)

  • Approximate number of individuals to be photographed

  • Provide parking pass, or confirm parking as a reimbursable fee

  • Provide purchase order number (studio can provide full quote at contact’s request)

Rates and Fees:

Inclusive of: One hour of setup, tethered/assisted onsite selection, (optional: day parking in 1 Broadway Garage for $45.00)

  • Half-day: $3400.00

    • (5) total hours, including setup, (4) hours of photography, 10 people per hour or maximum of 40 portraits

  • Full day: $5000.00

    • (8) hours total, including setup, (6.5) hours of photography, 8 people per hour or maximum of 56 portraits, and mandatory half-hour break)

  • Optional: $15.00 per additional edit (26+ files)
